How to Change World of Goo Screen Resolution

If you'd like to change the screen resolution of World of Goo you can edit the config file.

This is located at: C:\Program Files\WorldOfGoo\properties\config.txt

Edit this file to set your desired screen resolution.

It may be wise to make a backup of this file incase you make a mistake.

  2. On a mac, right click "World of Goo.app" and click "Show Package Contents". The file is located at: Contents/Resources/game/properties/config.txt
Seems to work fine at 1280x800.

  5. 1920x1200 gets the resolution right, but the handle at the end of the level doesn't "come hanging around"... tried putting it lower en the handle gets partially visible (hanging lower than the bottom of the screen)
put it back 800x800, it's easier to work and the resolution change is not a big deal, would be fun to get both right though

  7. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\world of goo\properties

  9. I found my screen resolution by looking at the background properties->Settings tab. Once I had that I opened:
    Steam\SteamApps\common\world of goo\properties\config.txt

worked a treat - and the continue handle works fine too.

I made a back up first just in case

  10. For 16:10 displays a 960x600 resolution seems to work well.

  11. Just wondering (I know this hasn't been an active post for a while), but is there a way to get this game to run in windowed mode, rather than full-screen mode? I find that the only way to get out of it when I'm playing full-screen mode is to exit entirely (as opposed to switching to the desktop to finish something else while pausing the game).

  13. Go to a terminal and open "/opt/WorldOfGoo/properties/config.txt" with your editor of choice.

(So, for example, I did " sudo gedit /opt/WorldOfGoo/properties/config.txt" )
Then, find the lines that say "param name="screen_width" value="X"
    param name="screen_height" value="Y" "
and change the X and Y to whatever resolution you want. (So, for fullscreen on a 1280x800 screen you'd replace X with 1280, Y with 800.)

  14. How do you get this to run in windowed mode?

Also editing the config does not work if you have a pc with multiple monitors, it still only runs at 800x600.

  25. For anyone who didn't know, after you have changed the resolution in the config file, you then have to save that and overwrite the old config file, then it'll work

  28. It doesn't work for me when I change at all, when I change values I have noticed another file briefly appears and when I verify game cache it replaces config, so once changed it mustn't be registering it for some reason.
